The Community & Youth Programs reflect the original mission of 36th Chamber: martial arts as a vehicle for human development. Since 1971, the dojo has run youth and community programs that have shaped thousands of young people across Detroit and beyond.
Youth training is age-appropriate, structured, and taught by instructors who understand how children learn. The curriculum builds physical coordination, confidence, and focus — while the dojo culture instills respect, accountability, and the discipline of consistent effort.
Anti-bullying programming is embedded throughout — not as an add-on, but as a core element. Students learn to carry themselves with calm confidence, to de-escalate, and to protect themselves and others when necessary. Belt progression gives young students a concrete framework for goal-setting and achievement.
For youth ages 7–18 and families looking to build discipline, confidence, and character. Also for community organizations seeking structured youth programming with measurable outcomes.
All plans include access to Community & Youth Programs. Your first week is always free.
